NATURAL VS. TRAINED LEADERSHIP

Leadership. Managers. Team Leaders. Owners.

What does it all mean? In order to operate a healthy company or family you need leadership, right? Yet how do we end up in these roles? Are you in one of these roles?

Have you ever heard the term "natural born leader"? I believe that this is someone that just easily fits into a leadership role, and people naturally want to follow. Do you know someone like this? All the way back to the elementary school playground leaders emerged, directing games and captaining kickball.

Have you ever thought about trained leadership? Probably not as much. There are endless opportunities to be trained in leadership and countless authors and trainers offering to make you a better leader, yet is there a true system to leadership?

So I ask you to think about your adult life, are you a natural leader, a trained leader or both?

As I work with coaching clients day to day I find that more often than not, I find individuals in leadership roles due to natural leadership yet they are struggling. A natural leader is attractive by nature, engaging, talents and successful, just based on natural talent. Yet why are they struggling? It's the switch. The moment when a leader realizes that natural leadership, although amazing, will not take them to all the levels of business they wish to obtain. They are going to need training. They are going to need systems. They are going to need coaching through the process of becoming a fully effective leader.

So I ask you to question yourself, where is your leadership?
